We are currently seeking to fill the following position(s)
Operations Assistant
We are currently seeking an individual who can provide support to the operational activities in our demonstration Agrotunnel unit at The Grove, Western Fair Grounds, in London, Ontario. This is not a paper pushing job! This is a hands-on position working with our plants and cutting-edge technology. We are looking for someone who is passionate and interested in building a career and being part of our social enterprise team.
Responsibilities
Assist with the day-to-day operations of our demonstration growing unit including planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops
Maintain all growing equipment including regular maintenance and cleaning protocols
Effectively manage administrative tasks including data management and crop tracking, as well as assisting with project management, research & development, and grant reporting
Assist with tours and technology demonstrations as needed
Assist with development and execution of social media posts and other engagement initiatives
Assist with coordination of shipping and product deliveries
Provide ad hoc support around the office as needed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative, and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role. You will have:
College or university degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience
Farming, gardening or plant knowledge required
Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to multitask is essential
Must be coachable, open-minded, and eager to learn
Creativity, passion, and enthusiasm are required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Experience working with Indigenous Communities is an asset
Due to the international nature of our business, time flexibility may be required
